For the fourth year in a row, the Dinner at Eight team participated in the City 2 Sea fun run in support of Movember. The Movember campaign is about bringing awareness to men’s health issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. To us, it is an important cause as we believe men should be able to freely and comfortably discuss health checks and mental health issues, so prevention can start earlier.
The fastest member of the team completed the race in under 31 minutes, with the rest of the squad finishing a little bit later, and others ambling their way casually across the finish line. For the first time in club history, two club members accompanied us, which made for a great day focused on an important cause.
After the run (or walk…), we ate brunch together at the West Beach Bathers Pavilion. The sunny 31 degree day was perfect for relaxing by the shore, but made for a very sweaty run!! The updated decor incorporating the building’s original art deco elements and extensive menu make the Pavilion a great spot for Sunday brunch or an afternoon drink. If visiting, be sure to walk past the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and take a peek at the chefs constructing your breakfast!
